Behind the Scenes - "Aurora" Live Session

What happens when a song captures the spirit of a place? In this behind-the-scenes short, go inside the making of the 'Aurora' music video, featuring Montana folk band Saint of Soldiers and the filmmaking team behind Journey to the Sun, a documentary about Glacier National Park’s iconic Going-to-the-Sun Road. We filmed this video in Western Montana, blending live performance with footage from our documentary to create something bigger than either project on its own. Hear from the band, film director Jordan Lefler, and cinematographer Logan Lefler as they share how Aurora—a song about beauty, impermanence, and memory—became part of the film’s emotional core. This is a collaboration between music and place, between story and sound.

S.O.S. at the Missoula Renaissance Fair

MISSOULA, Mont. – The Missoula Renaissance Fair is underway, drawing crowds with its costumes, crafts and live music. From jousts to folk sets, there's plenty to see and experience.

The event is attracting families, cosplayers and history fans. The soundtrack of the fair features bands blending old-world vibes with modern energy. One of the highlights is the band "Saint of Soldiers," which has found a unique voice that fits the moment.

Caity North of "Saint of Soldiers" shared how the band came to be. "Saint of Soldiers, it began, honestly, as a love story between Cody and I. We met. We both had separate projects aside from each other. But then we dropped those projects. And after we met and just started writing music together and realized that we had something very special," said North.

North explained that their partnership drives their songs, offering a mix of intimate lyrics and fair-friendly rhythms that keep crowds close to the stage. Between arena shows and market stalls, the band's sets provide visitors a place to sing along and slow down.

Cody North expressed the joy of performing at the fair. "It's just it's like a dream come true to be able to, you know, write, produce our own music and have it accepted and received so warmly," said Cody North.

Bluegrass band performs at Paradise Center

"'The members of this group are not only talented, they are kind, empathetic, and generous,' said Thorson. The trio did outreach sessions with the students of Trout Creek and Dixon schools the previous day at no charge to the Paradise Center. Thorson said several performers have done outreach sessions to schools over the years, but they usually charge a few hundred dollars more for each session.

'In addition to their generosity, they designed the outreach session specifically to appeal and be educational to youth. We are delighted to make their acquaintance and will promote them in any way we can,' she added."
